German tuner Delta4x4 specializes in massive off-road vehicle modifications, such as modifying a Mercedes-Benz G 500 off-road or even turning a Rolls-Royce Cullinan into an Overlander with a tent on the roof. Recently, the tuner upgraded and transformed a Tesla Model Y into an off-road vehicle, ready to conquer muddy roads.

The upgrades made by Delta4x4 on the Model Y include a suspension system that raises the car’s chassis by 35 mm. The tuner also widened the front and rear axles and added 60 mm fenders to better accommodate the ATR 265/45R20 Continental Cross Contact tires. With the new suspension system and large off-road tires, the Tesla has a total ground clearance of 22 cm.

This Model Y has a roof rack to hold equipment like a shovel, water bottle, spare tire, and storage box. It also has a light bar on the front of the hood. To help increase off-road performance, Delta4x4 mounted four PIAA LED spotlights to the front bumper.

For those in Germany interested in this build, Delta4x4 charges €900 for the suspension lift. Wheel and tire kits start at €4,500, roof racks are €2,900, and the light bar is an additional €900. The bumper lights, including mounting brackets, total €1,800.

A recent software update has given the high-performance Model Y a Track Mode, previously reserved for the Model S Plaid and Model 3 Performance. It adds features like creating custom settings for multiple powertrain variables, recording laps with a built-in camera, and tracking telemetry on the track. Tesla is reportedly preparing a major upgrade for the Model Y Standard Range AWD in 2023 with a battery upgrade and a few other additions.
